Just short of the picket fence, I think we have the all American Dream. Even though my parents are older than most, it wasn't much different than any other parent! It took me a long time to figure out why my dad didn't play with me much as a kid or why people would easily get confused when I said they were my parents. Being raised by two different generations for parents, it was hard, but I wouldn't change it. Now that I am at the age to have kids and am recently married, I know I don't want to have kids that late. So, although it was challenging growing up with older parents, I learned valuable lessons and know how I want to structure my life for my kids."
